Children from the whole Russia are creating the animation

Russia has launched a large-scale project The animation expedition. All-Russia animation (Mul’t-ekspeditsiya. Vserossiysky mul’tfilm). This project is unique because this is the first time children from different corners of Russia have been creating animated film by their own hands. Each child is involved in all stages of the cartoon creation, from character designing, script writing and production to drawing, shooting and sound recording.
As a result, it will be a 10 minute-long cartoon produced in a cut-out animation technique. At the workshops children create an adventure story of The White Rabbit and The Juggler, their friends and enemies. The animation is to be finished in the second half of November.
Additionally, there will be presentations taking place in the participating cities of the project; The Golden 100 of Russian Animation and The Best New Serial Animation.
There are 15 Russian Cities-members of this project among which are Stavropol, Chelyabinsk, Novosibirsk, Sochi, Kemerovo, Vladimir, Murmansk, Yekaterinburg, Samara, Krasnoyarsk, Nizhnevartovsk, Moskva, Grozniy, Armavir, Vladikavkaz.
The goal of the project is to develop children’s taste in art and to promote a love for animation. Pedagogical and cultural values are formed through team work which has a positive impact on creative abilities of children of all ages and backgrounds.
The project is supported by The National Children’s Fund and The Russian Animated Film Association. Art director of the project is Evgeniya Zhirkova, animation director.
